Yobe Fined N4.2m, To Play Next 3 Home Games Behind Closed Doors

League Management Company has clamped down heavily on Yobe Desert Stars, for breaching NPFL Frameworks and Rules during their Matchday 19 game vs Kwara United on April 29.

According a release by the league body on Friday, the high-riding newly promoted side have been fined N1 million for throwing objects towards the field of play, another N1 million for encroachment immediately after the match, another N1 million for failing to ensure adequate security for match officials and N1 million and N250,000 for conduct of their officials capable of bringing the league to disrepute and compensation to assaulted referee respectively.

The club will play their next three home matches behind closed doors with the last two being suspended for a probationary period till end of this season and will have three points deducted from their accrued points in the event of any further similar breach of the league rules this season.

They have 48 hours from the date of notice to appeal to the sanctions.
