Italian club Udinese believe they have found a gold mine in new signing, William Troost-Ekong, the Nigeria defender who completed his move from Turkish side Bursaspor on Friday.
Director of the Technical Area, Daniele Pradè told the club’s official website: “Ekong is a player with an important physical structure, skilled in the air game both in the defensive phase and offensive. We speak of an aggressive central defender, strong in contrast and with an excellent game reading: a thoughtless, non-instinctive leader who always tries to play the ball, all characteristics that go very well with the game of Mister Velazquez “.
The Nigeria international earlier in the day expressed his delight at the move in a post on Instagram thus: “Very happy to sign for @udinesecalcio in the @seriea! ???? #ForzaUdinese.”
Born on September 1, 1993 in Haarlem, a city in North Holland, Ekong represented Nigeria at 2018 World Cup finals in Russia, featuring in three Group D matches with the Super Eagles against Croatia, Icelend and Argentina.
He has played a total of 27 matches for Nigeria, finding the back of the net once against Congo in May this year.
He made 27 appearances for Bursaspor last season with two goals to the bargain.
