South Africa coach Desiree Ellis is looking to inflict a second successive defeat on Nigeria during Saturday’s Total Africa Women Cup of Nations final in Ghana.
Bayana Bayana has edged the Super Falcons in a Group B clash and defeated Mali 2-0 at the semi-finals on Tuesday to set up a mouthwatering final clash with the defending champions.
An elated Desiree Ellis says her team have put aside their triumph over Mali to prepare hard for Saturday’s final as they eye a historic triumph.
“We will celebrate tonight and start preparing for the final. We are not a team that talk much in the media. We will work together as a team and plan again. And hope to execute the plan because that’s all it is about. We have never won the Women’s AFCON and we are going to give it shot and see what happens on the weekend,” Elis was quoted as saying by cafonline.com after team overran Mali.
Cameroon who lost 4-2 on penalties to Nigeria in the first semi-final will play Mali in the 3rd Place match on Friday.
