Shakhtar Donetsk can’t help talking about how Olarenwaju Kayode distinguished himself on his debut, which he crowned with a goal in their 3-0 win away to Zorya on Sunday.
The Ukrainian giants on Tuesday issued a release on their official website describing how the 24-year-old Nigeria striker rounded off the scoring 140 seconds after coming in as 91st replacement for Facundo Ferreyra.
The release read: “The debutant Olarenvazhu Kayode distinguished himself last in the duel. Up to his ball, 88th number managed to spend on the field only 140 seconds, and from this figured you can safely take the time to prepare for a penalty, corner and the replacement of Patrick Zubkov.”
“He is my God, no doubt, Thank God for this great debut, Thank God for my goal⚽. Thank God for the victory, Thanks to my team mates and let’s make magic together…Happy Easter Fam,#LK88😉,” was how Kayode celebrated his goal in a post on social media.
Taison and Facundo Ferreyra scored earlier as the visitors secured maximum point in the Ukrainian Premier League Game week 25 tie, to retain six-point lead over second-placed Dynamo.
Kayode recently joined Shakhtar Donetsk after calling off his loan spell at Girona, where he scored no goals and rendered two assists in as many starts in 15 matches.
He joined Manchester City from Austria Wien in the summer and was immediately farmed out to Girona.
