Russia 2018: Ighalo Fancies Nigeria’s Chances Against Argentina, Croatia, Iceland

Nigeria striker, Odion Jude Ighalo, believes the Super Eagles can come out of Group D with determination and adequate preparation, but envisages tough battles with Argentina, Croatia and Icelend.

The 28-year-old made this observation while receiving his award as best player in the Chinese Super League in the month of April.

He said: “Our team opponents are very strong. For us, the game will be very tough, but our players They are very young and I believe there will be better performance and anticipation after our group matches.

“The Argentine team is a very strong team with many outstanding players. The 5th meeting in the group stage, but I think football is like this, as long as you do well enough, what will happen, of course, Messi is one of the best football players in the world, but the football game is a 11-person game, and all we have to do is do it ourselves, given adequate preparations.”

The Changchun Yatai striker was named in Nigeria’s 30-man provisional World Cup list released by Nigeria Football Federation on Monday.

Nigeria, who are making their sixth appearance at the World Cup following their debut at the 1994 edition in USA, will open their campaign against Croatia on June 16.
