President, Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali has warned wrestlers preparing for Commonwealth Games never to miss two days training session again.

The Olympic champion stated this in a post on social media on Thursday against the backdrop of the wrestlers shunning practice in protest of not being hosted by President Muhammadu Buahari on Wednesday in Abuja alongside 2018 CHAN Eagles and the historic Bobsled team to 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea.

“‏A missed training session is forever lost. May Commonwealth Games bound athletes never miss two days of Practice ever again over ‘RECEPTION’ of any guise? Competition is less than 1 month away!,” stated the Bayelsa State-born.

The wrestlers were erroneously exempted from the reception despite emerging overall champions of the 5th African Wrestling Championship held at the Alfred Diete Spiff Sports Complex in Port Harcourt in February.

Nigeria came first in four major categories of the championship which had 90 gold medals at stake.

Team Nigeria wrestlers emerged top in the cadet women wrestling, junior freestyle, senior women wrestling and senior freestyle wrestling.
