WIlson Oruma showed no signs of ill health as the former Nigeria international midfielder arrived at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotels & Suites venue of the maiden edition of AITEO/NFF Awards wearing a broad, enchanting and infectious smile on Monday afternoon.
The former RC Lens of France player was one of the early birds at the venue of the event billed to commence at 7pm, with cocktails slated for 6pm – 6.45pm.
This is against the background of recent reports about the U17 World winner being mentally unwell after losing billions of naira to fraudsters some years ago.
Sportsrollcall.com understands that the Warri-born will present one of the awards at the occasion, at the instance of the Nigeria Football Federation that has also perfected plans to take him to summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.
An array of prominent global figures, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Ahmad, political chieftains, football stars, renowned administrators past and present, captains of industry, legends of the Nigeria game and oaks of the entertainment industry are gracing Awards.
“SuperSport and AIT will broadcast the Awards ceremony live, starting from 7pm, and it will last for exactly 90 minutes – the period of a football match.”
Venue is the Grand Ballroom of the Eko Hotels & Suites, with cocktails slated for 6pm – 6.45pm.
