Former Madura United striker Peter Osaze Odemwingie has urged Mandura United president Achsanul Qosasi to stop misquoting him in the Indonesian press after falling with their management.
The former Nigeria international in a long statement on twitter regretted the team’s failure to win the Indonesia Liga 1 title, but added that their 6th-place finish with only six points separating them from winners Bhayangkara was not too bad.
His tweets on Monday reads:
“Mr @AchsanulQosasi can you please not quote me in the press ? Especially things I never said. Thank you 🙏🏽,” the Tashkent-born replied to an earlier tweet by Madura United president.
The 36-year-old scored 15 goals in 23 appearances for Madura, and was conspicuously missing when the team were annihilated 6-1 by PSM in Sunday’s last day’s fixture at Stadion Andi Mattalatta in Makassar.
He joined the club from Championship side Rotherham 5 March and had played for a string of clubs including Lille, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, Bendel Insurance, La Louvière, Lokomotiv Moscow, Cardiff City and Bristol City.
