Nigeria In Solidarity With Ikeme Ahead Of Cameroon Game

Players and official of the Nigeria national team, on Wednesday showed solidarity for Carl Ikeme, the team’s number who was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in July.
Led by head coach Gernot Rohr, the team tweeted to wish the Wolves keeper speedy recovery, as they count down to Friday’s 2018 World Cup qualifying tie against Cameroon at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on 1 September.
The tweet reads: “We stand together, in solidarity with our goalkeeper @Carl_Ikeme. We believe he will overcome this challenge and join us again very soon.”
Ikeme, who continues to enjoy support from the football world, is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
