Nigeria captain, Mikel John Obi is sad and frustrated he would not play in Tuesday’s friendly against Serbia in London, after missing out on Friday night’s 1-0 win over Poland, due to China work permit issue.
The 30-year-old Tiajin Teda midfielder who was sorely missed against Poland expressed his feelings in a statement on twitter on Monday, adding that he will be giving the Super Eagles his full support when they face the Serbians at The Hive Stadium.
“Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be on the field for our game v Serbia tomorrow. I am sad, and frustrated, but giving my full support to the team for another WIN! 👊🏿🇳🇬 #SoarSuperEagles,” stated the former Chelsea player.
Nigeria are looking to build on their shock 1-0 win over Poland when they face Serbia at the same venue they forced Senegal to 1-1 draw on March 23, 2017, in continuation of their build-up to the Russia 2018 World Cup finals in June.
