Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Saturday presented a cheque of N3 million to the family of late Kano Pillars defender, Chinedu Udoji, who died on 18 February, leaving behind his wife and two young children.

Udoji, aged 28, passed away  in Kano after reportedly getting involved in an auto crash along Club Road in Kano after visiting his former Enyimba teammates at the camp.

The centre-back, who captained Enyimba to win the 2014 Federation Cup and 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League titles, was on parade as Kano Pillars and Enyimba played out a 1-1 draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium earlier that day.
