Chennaiyin striker, Jude Nworuh has his eyes on his first title in India, after his team berthed at the final of Indian Super League following 3-0 second leg, semi-final victory against Goa on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old was 85th minute replacement for Gregory Nelson, as the home side romped to a resounding victory. Jeje Lalpekhlua weighed in with a brace, opening the scoring on 26 minutes and rounding off the scoring on 90 minutes. Dhanapal Ganesh scored betwixt on 29 minutes.
With Chennaiyin progressing to the final 4-1 on aggregate, with the reverse tie ending in 1-1 draw, Nworuh now looks to lift the trophy when they face Bengaluru in the final on Saturday at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore.
“What a performance from our team today.. A very big shoutout to the lovely fans of CFC we love you guys and together we shall win the final.. we are in the final of the super league💪💪,” stated Nworuh, who has neither a goal nor assist in nine appearances for Chennaiyin following his arrival from Ilves on September 5.
Bengaluru defeated Pune City 3 – 1 on aggregate to reach the final.
