Iwobi: Wenger Is Unfazed By Criticisms

Alex Iwobi thinks Arsene Wenger is a good man amidst a plethora of criticisms about the French’s stewardship at the club.

The Nigeria international who scored twice in the Super Eagles 4-2 defeat of Argentina in a recent friendly in Russia, said the gaffer  solely focused on his job and unperturbed by what people say of him.

“I think he is a very good man. He is very patient. Wherever he goes, there are going to be critics,” the forward told Soccer Laduma.

“He is getting these comments, but I think he is dealing with it very well. He is focused on the next job, and on the next game.

“He doesn’t really let the critics get to him. At the end of the day, fans are entitled to say what they want to say.

“But the coach keeps on pushing. He is well respected and everyone has his back.”

Iwobi, 21, came through the ranks under Wenger and has featured in  45 Premier League games since 2015/16. He however remains on the fringes and made a cameo appearance in their 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend, coming in as 84th minute replacement for Mesut Ozil.
