Henan Huishang FC new signing, Onome Ebi is delighted to be back playing football 15 months after fracturing her hand.
The Nigeria international expressed her delight in a statement on Instagram on Thursday following her unveiling by her Chinese club a day earlier.
“I believed. I’m stronger. I’m grateful. I’m back. I want to thank God almighty for this new opportunity. I want to thank the best management team @thetemplecompany, my sister @asisat_oshoala, my family and finally I want to thank all that stood by me throughout this time, friends, supporters. With you everything is possible!,” stated the 34 years old defender.
Dalian Quanjian F.C striker, Asisat Oshoala on Wednesday welcomed her Super Falcons teammate to China following her unveiling earlier that day.
“Allah Is The Greatest. Congrats sis and welcome to China,” stated the African Women Player of the Year.
Ebi, 34, who last played for FC Minsk in the Belarusian Premier League had earlier celebrated her new deal and return to action on the social media platform thus: “Thank to God almighty for making this possible. I’m back in football again and to say I am super excited is to put what I am feeling mildly. I want to thank everyone who has been with me on my journey to recovery and has helped to make this possible.
“I want to single out my management team for being a strong support system and making sure this transition was very smooth,” Ebi was quoted in the media statement.
“I can’t wait to play football again for my club and country. I have survived one of the biggest challenges of my career and I am in a happy place to once again do what I love best.”
Ebi was part of the Super Falcons team that won the African Women’s Cup of Nations in Cameroon where she fractured her hand.
