Rangers International are grateful to Ijebu-Ode as they bid the Ogun State capital bye after an eventful 11-day preseason camping exercise at Dipo Dina Stadium.
The Flying Antelopes will return to Enugu on Monday after rounding off their South-West training tour with a friendly against Dosu Joseph’s Westerlo Academy, which ended goalless at Rehab Training pitch, Berger, Lagos.
The club issued a statement on twitter on Sunday after their last training session at Dipo Dina Stadium thanking the people of Ijebu-Ode.
The statement read: “Bye Ijebu Ode ……. We enjoyed ourselves during our stay for 11 days. Thank you …… Ijebu Ode. Thank you for the 11 days. The team will return to Enugu on Monday after spending 11 days in Ijebu Ode in final preparation for the new season.”
The team were undefeated in a series of tune-up games in Ijebu-Ode, as they easily claimed the scalps of Skibanj, Cityfut, Rising Star and Gadmaj 5-1,2-0, 6-0 and 4-0 respectively.
Arguably the most supported team in the Nigerian elite division; Rangers will kick off the 2017-2018 NPFL season on January 14 away to Akwa United, host Lobi Stars in their second game on January 17 at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and embark on a trip to Dan Anyiam Stadium to face newcomers Heartland in an Oriental derby.
Meanwhile, Ugonna Anyaora and Ousmane Sane have just three weeks more to finish their physiotherapy sessions and resume training ahead of the new season.
