South Africa believe they can turn the table against Nigeria in the second leg of 208 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying tie at Samuel Ogbemuda Stadium, Benin-City this afternoon.
The team which arrived in the country on Wednesday, capitulated 2-0 at home to the Super Falconets in the first leg, but have been tidying up all loose ends, which they apparently failed to do at home, to secure an upset not in the offing.
On Friday, the team studied tapes of matches involving Nigeria before heading for their first training session at the match venue while coaches Maud Khumalo and Simphiwe_Dludlu, who tried but failed to stir ill feelings between both countries with “lack of water in Lagos” tweet, gave final instructions to the team before heading off to the stadium.
Favourites Nigeria only need a draw of any kind to pick a ticket to the finals in France later in the year.
