Nigeria international striker, Ino Ezekiel says he is ready to hit the ground running with UD Las Palmas, depending on the coach.
He stated this during his presentation earlier today after signing two and half years deal with the La Liga strugglers on Thursday.
Whilst expressing his delight at joining Las Palmas and playing in the best league in the world, the Olympian revealed that he called off his stint with Turkish side Konyaspor because it him took some time to adjust to Turkish football, adding that he had to look elsewhere because his family was not happy in that country.
He told the club’s official website: “I am ready to play, but now it all depends on the coach, I am very happy to have signed at UD Las Palmas, it is a great opportunity for me to play in the best league in the world and against the best players.
“It cost me to adapt to Turkish football, my family did not feel happy and that’s why we decided to look for another destination.
“I will do everything possible to make a good season with UD Las Palmas.”
Ezekiel is the third Nigerian to join the club this winter alongside Emmanuel Emenike and Oghenekaro Etebo. He has been assigned the number 14 shirt.
He arrives at the club to strengthen the team’s front line. He is a quick attacker, has an eye for goal, and can play in any three attacking positions. He has had a long career in European football, having laced boots for Belgian sides Standard Liege and Anderlecht, as well as his latest club Konyaspor in Turkey. He has also played in Qatar, for Al-Arabi. In 2016 he won a bronze medal for Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Brazil.
Ezekiel becomes the eighth signing for the club in the winter transfer window.
