Europa: Ayo Okosun’s Goal Hands FC Midtjylland Lifeline At Malmo

FC Midtjylland have Germany-born Nigerian midfielder, Ayo Simon Okosun to thank for a share of the spoils in their UEFA Euopa League Play-offs, first leg tie at Malmo FF on Thursday night.

The 25-year-old, who joined the club in June from Horsens, scored on 77 minutes, to bed the game at 2-2, 17 minutes after Gustav Wikheim had pulled one back for the visitors.

Malmo had raced in front in the opening 25 minutes, with Markus Rosenberg opening the scoring on 12 and Marcus Antonsson  making it 2 – 0 on 25 minutes at Swedbank Stadion.

Okosun, who has also laced boots for Vendsyssel  and AB, was a 64th minute replacement for Nigerian striker Paul Onuachi.

Frank Onyeka was the third Nigerian that featured for the Danish side as a 90th minute replacement for Mads Doehr Thychosen.
